A spacious flat on the fourth floor of a residential building in the Boyana housing estate, which was initially with gypsum plaster and cement screed according to the Bulgarian State Standard. The project assignment was renovation of the electrical installation and equipment, suspended ceilings in the entire flat with a detail for hidden lighting along the periphery of curtains in front of windows and accent on the living area, putties and paints. We used bathroom tiles with size 240 x 120 cm – large-format 6mm, and the external angles of the tiles we made with Gerung 45 degrees, with no tile trim. An important point of the process was the precise lifting of the tiles to the flat, which is not possible in every building, having in mind the properties, that is to say, the dimensions of the common parts, stairwell, height etc.
A remarkable accent in the dwelling are the floorings of gres tiles with size 60/60, in one plane, and the natural parquet, with link in an internal space of a sitting room with large height between the floorings, beyond the doors. For this purpose, we needed to know the thicknesses of the two types of flooring and perform the necessary operations – self-levelling floor screed and evening before laying the gres tiles and parquet. There is no transition molding and that is exactly the intended effect about the floorings in the entire flat.
